Thesis: How Do I Look?

“We must teach our children to dream with their eyes open.” ― Harry Edwards

This project has been one of my favorite things I've done so far in my photography career. At the photographic technology program at NAIT one of our classes is called thesis. Thesis was a semester long project where we had to photograph 15-20 images around the same subject. I had a really hard to choosing my topic. I wanted all of my models to be kids but that's all I could decide on. I finally decided on kids looking older than they really are. All of these girls are between the ages of 5-12; however, they clearly don't look that age. What inspired me most to choose this topic was my experience at Ashlyn Mae Photography's workshop that I went to this summer. I've always loved her work and it was such a wonderful experience. I had such a wonderful experience with all of these girls. Every single one of them had such amazing personalities. First off, I want to thank all of my models and their parents. Thank you for driving the girls to the shoots and helping me out with everything. I also want to thank my parents for always listening to my countless anxiety attacks on the phone. I love you both. I want to thank my best friend Paige for letting me rant about everything and anything. You never fail to make me laugh during class and to help me out with whatever I need. I'm so glad that we met. I want to thank all of my instructors. I'm so lucky to be learning from such talented people. Lastly, I want to thank my boyfriend Josh. Thank you for helping me out with most of my projects and always being there for me no matter what. I know I can be a handful but I'm so thankful for you. You are my person. I love you so much. I hope you all enjoy my photos. Make sure to check out the video at the bottom of the page too. Thank you for the support. I love every single one of you...especially the ones who comment and like on everything I post. I notice everyone!
